Tuesday, September 15th 2015 || Personal Project(s)

I learned today that I actually have two personal projects to do as a high school senior (or Secondary 5 in Canada, where I live). One of them is an Art class project, the other is designed to prepare me for CEGEP. What is CEGEP you may be wondering? I'll get to that soon enough!

Firstly, the Art project. This is the personal project I already knew I had to do in my last year in high school. This project involves coming with an idea, a project, that will take months to create. You need to film yourself doing it, you need to research various topics and you need to make it interesting. Of course, it needs to relate to Art class. So make it pretty. Allow me to be frank, art isn't my forte, but computers are. So how did I manage to come with an idea combining art, computers and my passion for human biology? Two words. My father. His idea: design a 3D model of a human heart on a computer program and have it 3D printed. Brilliant. Thanks dad, I owe you one (and probably many many more).

Secondly, the orientation project. As a senior in Canadian (and more specifically Quebec) high school, I am require to soon pick a "CEGEP". CEGEP is a level of school between high school and university. It prepares the student for the reality of life they will face in the real world and in the subsequent years of university. CEGEP generally lasts 2 or 3 years depending on your selected program. Complicated? Yes. Useless? Probably. This "project" requires me to visit at least one CEGEP around my city. I do that, I get a credit. Simple enough right? Right! At least I hope so. I get the details tomorrow. Good luck to me.

In other news: I practiced driving some more, as I will be starting my practice classes very soon. Looking forward to that!

Thanks for reading!
Alex
